NoTrack Coder 2.9.27 — think harder with /ultrathink

Nov 3, 2026·3 min read

NoTrack Coder 2.9.27 adds slash commands — quick / shortcuts you type right in the chat — and a new one, /ultrathink, that brings a more capable model to your hardest questions.

Type / at the start of a message and you get a handful of commands that steer the chat without leaving the keyboard. The headline this release is /ultrathink.

/ultrathink — more reasoning, on demand

Some questions deserve more thinking than others. Start your message with /ultrathink and that one request is handled by a more capable, more effective model — the one to reach for when a task needs careful reasoning rather than a quick answer.

Reach for it when a problem is genuinely hard:

  • /ultrathink why does this race condition only show up under load?
  • /ultrathink design a migration plan from the old schema to the new one
  • /ultrathink review this module and find the subtle correctness bug

It applies to the message you prefix — the next message goes back to normal. Everyday chatting doesn't need it; keep working as usual and bring in /ultrathink for the problems worth the extra depth.

The rest of the commands, at a glance

Every command starts with / and runs right in the chat:

Command What it does
/help Show every command available
/clear Start a fresh chat
/compact [topic] Compress the conversation to free up room — add a topic to keep the focus there
/context See how full the context window is
/init Scan the current working folder and create a project memory file, so future chats know your project from the first message
/model <name> Switch the model
/cron 1h <prompt> Schedule a recurring task — every N minutes, hours or days
/loop 1h <prompt> The same as /cron
/ultrathink <prompt> Hand a hard question to a more capable model

Not sure what's available? Just type /help.

Frequently asked questions

What is /ultrathink?

A slash command for harder questions. Start a message with /ultrathink and that request is handled by a more capable, more effective model, built for tasks that need more reasoning. Everything else in the chat works exactly as before.

When should I use /ultrathink?

When a problem is genuinely hard — a tricky bug, a big refactor, an architecture decision, a hard algorithm — anywhere extra reasoning pays off. For routine messages you don't need it, so you keep the lighter, faster experience the rest of the time.

What are slash commands?

Shortcuts you type at the start of a message, beginning with /. They steer the chat — start a new one, compact the context, check how full the context is, schedule a recurring task, switch model, and more. Type /help to see the full list.

How do I see all the commands?

Type /help in the chat and NoTrack Coder shows every command you can use.

Do I need to update?

Slash commands and /ultrathink ship in 2.9.27. Download for Windows or Linux, or let the app auto-update.
