NoTrack Coder 2.8.93 — search the web over Tor

Oct 22, 2026·2 min read

NoTrack Coder 2.8.93 adds a "Use Tor" switch. Flip it on in a chat and that chat's web searches and page opens run over the Tor network — so you can search .onion sites and open any of them to read. Your requests to the AI model always stay direct.

What it does

Turn on Use Tor (in the chat, or globally under Settings → Privacy) and two things change for that chat:

  • Web search goes through Tor — your searches are routed over the Tor network instead of straight from your connection.
  • Page opens go through Tor — the agent can fetch and read regular pages and .onion sites alike, so you can research the dark web from the same chat.

Everything else works exactly as before.

Your AI requests stay direct

This is a search-and-browsing feature, not a full proxy. Requests to the AI model are never sent over Tor — they always go direct, so your chats stay fast and nothing about the model side changes. Tor is used only for the web search and the pages the agent opens.

Private, but honest about it

Tor hides your IP address from the sites you open — they see a Tor exit node, not you. That's the point: more privacy for your research. To be straight with you, as always: Tor hides you from those sites, but not from us — the agent still runs on your machine and we don't pretend otherwise.

The Tor core is downloaded once (about 15 MB) the first time you use it, then it's ready. The switch is opt-in — off by default, on only when you choose.

Frequently asked questions

What does "Use Tor" do in NoTrack Coder?

When it's on, that chat's web searches and page opens are routed over the Tor network. You can search and open regular sites and .onion (dark web) sites. Your requests to the AI model are not affected — they always go direct.

Does my whole connection go through Tor?

No. Only the chat's web search and the pages the agent opens use Tor. The AI model requests always stay direct, so the chat stays fast.

Can I open .onion / dark web sites?

Yes. With Use Tor on, the agent can reach and read .onion sites, so you can research the dark web from the same chat.

Does Tor make me anonymous to NoTrack Coder?

No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Tor hides your IP from the websites you open, not from the app, which runs on your own machine. It's privacy toward the sites you visit.

How do I turn it on?

Flip the Use Tor switch in a chat, or enable it globally under Settings → Privacy. It's off by default. The first time, NoTrack Coder downloads the Tor core once (~15 MB).
